FAQ and practical tips

Do I need a vignette on these sections?

On the special sections themselves (between the toll booths), a vignette is not required. However, access to them often leads via motorways covered by a vignette (e.g., A12 to A13), so in practice, both a vignette and a section ticket are usually needed.

Where to buy section tickets (digital)?

Most conveniently online in the official ASFINAG shop (digital Streckenmaut). After linking the license plate number, passage through the green "Prepaid Only" lane is possible without stopping.

Can I pay on site?

Yes, each toll booth has cash desks. Multi-journey cards are also available (e.g., A11 – 14 journeys/30 days).
