Czech Vignette 2026 – guide to e-vignette prices and types

Planning a trip on Czech highways in 2026? Check the current price list, find out how the new 1-day vignette works, and avoid high fines (up to 20,000 CZK) with our guide.

What is the Czech e-vignette in 2026?

In 2026, the toll system in the Czech Republic remains fully digital. The electronic vignette (e-dalnice) is directly linked to your vehicle's registration number. You no longer need to stick anything to the windshield – the camera system will automatically verify your passage.

Important: Since 2025, strict rules regarding the start date of validity have been introduced. You can buy a vignette up to 3 months in advance or with immediate activation.

Types and prices of vignettes in the Czech Republic (As of 2026)

Eco-price – savings for ecological vehicles

The Czech Republic promotes ecology. If your car is powered by natural gas (CNG) or biomethane, you will pay half the rate.

💡 Tip: From 2025/2026, electric vehicles (EV) registered outside the Czech Republic must submit an exemption notification to use free highways. "EL" license plates alone are not always sufficient for automatic exemption of foreigners.

Control system and fines in 2026

The Czech police and Customs Administration use the Argos system. Cameras on gantries scan license plates in real time. If the system does not detect an active e-vignette, the information is immediately sent to the nearest patrol.

⚠️ Penalties for not having a vignette:

  • On-the-spot fine: up to 5 000 CZK
  • Administrative proceedings: up to 20 000 CZK
  • Unjustified exemption notification: up to 100 000 CZK
